Getting spanked in the preseason, good or bad?

    I almost think this was a good thing. They were all talking about getting out of camp early and going to movies and such. Looks like they needed a dose of reality. Getting flat out embarassed in the preseason might be a good thing. It might light a fire under their collective asses.

    I could care less about the final score in a preseason game, but to see the team still unable to do things (like cover the TE) that plaqued them last year is concerning.

    Its not that we lost, its how we lost. Our starting defense was getting burned my rookie TE's from Cinci and AJ Feely. Harris is pretty bad in coverage

    Maybe now they will work on this stuff harder. If they had steamrolled the Eagles like they did the Giants then they would probably be over confident and not be ready for the opener.

    It almost seemed like the 1st team offense was just going through the motions. I noticed Drew Carter just strolling along through one of his routes. Hopefully we'll look a little better on national tv on friday

    I get so tired of comments like these. Did you ever play a sport at any significant level? Sure, sometimes teams get complacent, but too many ignorant fans pretend that wins and losses are determined by hype or media attention or previous butt kickings. Wins and losses are determined by talent, scheme, and execution. None of those things are affected by what those fans seem to think are most important. If ass kickings fostered winning, then the Cardinals would be Super Bowl champions by now, and if winning often resulted in complacency, you wouldn't have the Colts and Patriots being good every season.

    I don't think it's a good thing. In the preseason, I don't think it matters much either way.

    The only real postives are that we're still healthy, and we can't play much worse than we did last night.

    the lack of coordination and focus was a problem. I hope they learn that whatever that was, wasn't acceptable. Plus, real game or not, Philly at Philly is a big deal and you don't want to fall out of there with your ass handed to you at any point.

    It a good thing to get spanked in the perseason becuase because it show that they still get more work to do if they want to win the superbowl
