So, if I say you raped my next door neighbor, should your boss fire you immediately because the "facts as he knows it" say you did it? Or should he wait to let police determine what really happened before making a decision?

Where did you get the notion that he went specifically to see her? Wouldn't it be more logical to assume he went to the club to enjoy the show (as he reportedly frequently does). And it's just as likely that she approached him after hours about getting some paid action or some other reason. Not enough details to say yet. Now as far as justification, what if he turned her down and she flipped out, and rather than risk arrest for assault on a female, he pulled a gun (which could very well have been in his car) thinking it would scare her off? Who knows, certainly none of us here do.

Rushing to judgment before even getting the other side of a story would be extremely foolish for any buisiness man, let alone one who has a strong union to answer to. So there is no way any decision will be made before more info is gathered.

And as others have said, even if this went off exactly as the stripper said, it is unlikely he will be released. This issue does not warrant a suspension from the league (since it is a first offense and a minor one at that...in fact this is the type of incident that establishes a first offense), and according to the CBA, the team can only suspend him up to four games. Any release would be contested by the players union, and the team would lose.

See you're just not getting this part. Maybe he'd NEVER met the woman before. He keeps a firearm on him for possible OTHER people not necessarily some woman he possibly didn't know.

I will just say that with all the crap that has been going on in the league, don't you think you would stay home, lock up the pistol, and bring the 'entertainment' to your house.

That I agree with him. I will say one way or another in all of this, he was stupid as hell to even BE there.

I wouldn't defend Peppers anymore because he's a better player, and you shouldn't either. Hell if it was one of those European guys that has no shot at the roster I'd defend them the same simply because its not right to initially judge based on the statement of a stripper.

Who's defending him. Some of us are just saying we don't have all the facts, and lets wait and see what really happened. Also, we are saying that what he is accused of doing does not warrant a cut. I don't think anyone is cheering his decision to visit a strip club right before training camp...or pulling a gun (if he actually did).
