I am buying a house from my sister. She had a well drilled on the property. The well went down 520 feet but the driller said he did not hit water. I pulled the cap off the well and I could see water in it. I used a weighted string and measured about 30 feet down to the water. That gives a pretty good sized reserve figuring 490 or so feet of water in a six inch diameter column. The well has been sitting for a month or so, so I do not know how long it took it to fill with water.

I am wondering if the well is usable or not. Anyone know anything about this?

I do not know how fast if filled up, I wish I did. I guess I just need to get someone to pump it out and then see how fast it fills back up.

Pull the pipe back to around 35-40 feet and put a pump on it. Water.
