Kemo: $4.7 million cap hit in 2008 if he plays. Cutting him would either result in a $1.7 hit in 2008 and a $3.4 in 2009 or take the full $5.1 million in 2008.

Hartwig: $3.75 million cap hit in 2008 if he plays. Cutting him: $1.5 hit in 2008 and $3.0 in 2009 or the remaining pro-rated amount of $4.5 in 2008.

My guess is that one of them could be gone...but not both. I am not sure how many pre-June 1 cuts can be designated as post-June 1 and have the escalated amounts applied over two seasons.

 

Nearly 4 mil for Hartwig, and nearly 5 mil for Kemo? Keyshawn gets about 6 million in pocket for his one year with us? Is that about right?


I would be very interested to see a side by side comparison of what the Carolina panthers paid their starting 22 players last year (and numbers for the projected starters THIS year) and what the friggin New England Pats paid (and are paying) theirs . . . Because I would bet that there is a significant disparity

I would have to assume at this point that our FO is consistantly on the receiving end of getting buggered when it comes to player contracts.

 

Agreesome. But our weakness at saftey (and somewhat at LB once Morgan goes down) may let the other team just march right down the field to counter any long drive we garner from that heavy dose of running.

 

If he can last a few games we may be okay but if goes out early we're gonna get burned for a while.

And Dan, anyone really think he's gonna 'fess up if he's seeing double after a hit, knowing he might leave the field forever? I hate it for him.
