I wonder what Stephen Hawking has to say about this.

Jesus Christ as savior is the only way to Heaven. Trust me on this one.

I respect your point of view, but anyone who accepts that--or anything else--just on someone else's say-so is a fool. Especially on the say-so of some stranger they know nothing about.

If you'd like to contribute to the thread topic, how about some points about why atheism does or does not make sense? Or something about the bickering among all the different brands of believers?

Question with boldness even the existence of God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear.

I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.

it's funny, we were having the same discussion at lunch. Atheism requires as much faith as any religion, and its believers feel the same need to defend their faith and convert others as those that believe in a god (or gods).

Over zealous concern with the faiths of others is a huge problem in this world IMHO. Be concerned with your own walk. Be proud of your faith, share it and celebrate it. You can do all those things without antagonizing others.

To use one of my favorite quotes: "Calling Atheism a faith is like calling "bald" a hair color."

Until there is proof that there is no God, then you must rely on faith that He (or She, or It, or They) doesn't exist. By definition, Atheism is a belief that there is no God. What is a belief if it's not faith?
