Mark Packer got on the radio and he can't speak english...so I guess it makes sense that other idiots can.

 

congrats chipshot you figured out the huge secret about the show. everything is done to get a reaction from the callers. all i was supposed to do is figure out a way to get a reaction from 3 or 4 callers. then my job was done. after the first few would call in then they would say something that would make other people call in. the problem is most of the listeners dont understnad that. they also think that anything packer says is the gospel. if the listeners would bite on the things he throws out he would have to get into breaking down sports. so you guys shouldnt be angry at pack or anyone else on the show. you should be angry at the listeners for letting themselves be led around like lost sheep. as far as if they read the board anymore i couldnt tell you. i know they will go on boards now and again if they get an email about something, or just to see what people are saying. like if some listener sent a email or sombodys buddy let them know i was messaging on here they might read it. with that said if anyone from the station is reading this i hope that you are doing well and things are good.

Hayseed: I was wondering what had happened to you. In fact, I found this board by googling "hayseed" and it led me to this thread. I hope you are doing well. Anyone who has listened to Packer doing Primetime with the ACC (or whatever it's called) knows that he is pretty boring without a supporting cast of characters. Packer is incapable of breaking anything down, so he prefers throwing gasoline on local rivalries, and has cultivated a small stable of regular callers who regularly and predictably fight it out. I listen to FNZ (including Primetime) regularly because it's the only game in town relative to local coverage. In my opinion, Gary Williams and Sandy Penner (when he was here) do a pretty good job of breaking down sports, basketball especially. I do feel sometimes like there is a laugh track in the studio for Primetime.

 

What listeners?

According to the Arbitron ratings published last week in the Charlotte Biz Journal, WFNZ had the biggest decline in the market dropping 34% from 2005 to 2006. They went from a 2.2 share to a 1.4 in 06.

For those who don't know understand, this is a death blow.

The list of shows beating Packer is long and pathetic so I ask again, what listeners?
