If I had control I would trade down, try to get a 1st this year and next. Then I would take 3 OL (if they were graded as future solid starters) with my first 3 picks this year, give Walter another shot and try to snag a good FA RB like Turner or maybe get Taylor or Duece. A good TE would be a plus as well.

But we're talking Raiders here, They will most likely take some loser because he "fits the raiders mystique" or I hope they take one of those QB's that wont amount to crap that are coming out this year.

Oakland already drafted plenty of linemen, and ones who were well thought of too, which is why it's perplexing that they've had problems on that front.

They need to stop dicking around and take a QB. Collin is right that they are only a piece or two away, assuming the coaching staff is serviceable.

They need to get their leaders onboard. If that means changing the locker room attitude, then so be it. Let Moss and Porter have some input. Make them feel involved in some of the decisions. Make them feel respected. Then it is much easier to achieve both of your goals; namely, winning games.

They really aren't far off. In the NFL, any team can be a year away from a turnaround. Just get a QB and a modern offensive mind in there, and that should go a long way.

It's been pointed out that they have some talent there. Watching them play in during one of their 20 annual primetime games, I noticed that the interior line actually did okay. Gallery looked really bad, though, and they've tried him at just about every position. I'll be interested to see what the new coaches do there. If he just settles down to one spot, he could probably do a decent job.

I think their biggest problem was hiring a bed and breakfast operator to run the offense.

If you can say Oakland is a "Piece or two away" then since they're the worst team in the league, you can say that about every team..

Oakland needs a lot more than a piece or two.

I doubt he meant a piece or two away from being a champion but from being respectable.

Gallery should be good, and just isn't. Grove and Langston Walker are good players, though ideally Walker might be inside. Sims isn't great, but he's a stable veteran when healthy. The line itself could really use two pieces.
