I saw where Timmons from FSU has declared that he'll leave early. I'm assuming that he is an OLB in a 3-4 rather than an OLB in a 4-3? On paper it looks like he is similar to the guy the Browns took in the first round, forgot the name? Anybody sat down and really watched this guy play? He is like 6'3'' and 230 lbs, but runs like a 4.6.

I'm sure it's not in the Fox philosophy, but I'd sure like some Michael Griffen at Safety next year

If you are looking at Safety - why not LeRon Landry from LSU? Hard hitter, tough in pass defense, always around the ball. Keep an eye on him in the Sugar Bowl. I think he would be a perfect fit for Fox's defense!

Iowa is giving Texas a run for its money. Texas is up 26-21 with 10 minutes to go. :wtf23:

Obviously Texas has a lot of good players, and anyone paying enough attention saw Michael Griffin make a couple plays.

3-4 OLBs are almost always 250 lbs or more because they are more often required to engage offensive linemen, so no, I don't believe that he would be under consideration for such a system. In any case, Timmons does not appear to be any prize. He likely declared because he's tired of school or has some financial hardship.

I liked what I saw out of Joel Clinger (OT, Missouri) in his bowl game against Oregon State (?). Very athletic RT who often pulled to the far side of the field. Probably wouldn't be a starter for a year or two, but could be a nice project.

Texas didn't even play the first half, they barely showed up for the first half. They came out flat, I would love to hear a recording of that halftime speech.
By the time they decided to play Iowa had it in their heads they could hang...should have been 50-0 instead of 26-24.
Then again Texas and Tennessee are pretty good at playing like shit in bowl games, although Texas had a few years where they didn't do so bad. It's as if Brown can't get his players up for anything but the Championship and Fulmer just can't coach.

Yeah, that was disgusting watching Tennessee lose to P State. To me, they obviously had way better talent but as usual came out flat and got beaten by a team they should have handled without a lot of trouble.

On another note, Paterno strikes me as one of those people who thinks if he retires they'll have to close the program down. Past time for him to be put out to pasture. Of course I'm biased since I've never liked him ..

Nah, Paterno just loves the University and loves the game. I hate Tennessee and Texas, always been a PSU fan...so I am biased in the other direction. However, the reason I have developed this hate for anything Orange and White is the perrenial over rankings one or the other if not both receives. The last couple years it's been Tennessee that is over rated, previously it was BOTH.

Some say the same about Penn State and the Big Ten in general and it is definately arguable, but the ranking system is flawed that way.
