With Baddour, nothing is ever a "done deal" until you see the press conference.

Yup... I'm cautiously optimistic. Until Davis is at UNC I don't totally expect it, but there are good signs saying he will be. Then again there were signs Beamer would be... and before that Donnan.

I wonder if they're really considering anyone else. Doesn't hurt to shop around. I guess at worst he'd end up like Siefert.

I was thinking more about the process than the eventual results. Did the Panthers ever really consider anyone after they canned Capers?

I'd say that JR was pretty dead set on Seifert or Holmgren, and wanted either, but was certainly going to try to hire one of the two, especially after forcing the WCO down Capers' throat in 98.

Yeah, after I posted this I saw he was actually the second coach - had forgotten about the first guy.

He took a 3-13 team to 7-9, then to 9-7 and the playoffs. Then the bottom fell out, going 5-11 and 4-12.

I'm hopeful this thing will get done, but I have to admit, the longer it takes, and the more BADdour has his hands on this thing, the less likely if is.

Baddour will screw it up like he has in the past. That's a given.
