    Great customer service. 18 months after purchase, 25 minutes with tech support that was extremely knowledgeable. Tracked problem to cable box ( not purchased from them ) and he found the problem on that box and we fixed it.

    There is no reason to buy anyplace else. The hold music breaks for a guy that says 'there are plenty of complete systems on the market with everything you need. We call those the systems our parents would buy.'

    Did your video stop working and he traced it to you needing to reboot the cable box? The guy from TW hooked me up with that little nugget a couple of weeks ago. Apparently they just pushed an upgrad to all of the cable boxes.

    WAY not that easy.

    A couple of days ago, I noticed that all my hi-def channels seemed 'zoomed' in. I couldn't see the 'ESP' on the ESPN ticker, only the 'N', only partial watermarks, shit like that.

    I reset everything to factory default, yada yada. Turns out what must have happened is that one of my kids was pawing the remote ( toddlers love them ) and somehow inadvertantly got into the advanced settings part of the cable box and swtiched my desired aspect ratio from 16:9 to 4:3, resulting in a 'zoom' effect on the 16:9 display.

    I didn't know the cable box even had that as an option.

    Dude was all over it.

    Woulda prolly got one from visualapex if I hadn't found a 50" at Sam's for just under $2k. It does all I need.

    What brand? I'm thinking of getting one after Christmas and have seen the ones at Sams. Didn't know if they were of less quality, etc.

    Vizio. It's only got one cable-type input, but you can get around that with the right cables. Don't know what it looks like against all the others we've discussed, but it's on the wall above the fireplace and we love it.

    I woulda figured out the video mode thing, so technical support is not what I need to pay for.
