entering a survivor pool for the first time...and its a big one. $100 each entry, can buy multiple entries, no re-buys, callin for 300 picks, winner takes all (yes, thats $30 large). i'm thinking of doing 2 picks because it would be hard as hell to narrow it down to one. anyone with survivor experience have tips, expertise, reference reading, anything??

No fucking clue. The one I think is the most obvious game inevitably ends up being the upset of the week.

well..ya.. but should i "save" the better teams for later in the season or play it safe from the start? thats why i'm thinking of doing 2...one risky (say, choose miami for week one)...one safe (pat's).

Go through and pick your top 5 choices for each week, then see which teams appear the most often. Those you may want to save, while the ones that don't come up as much would be free to use.

Didn't we do a TBR Survivor game last year? Anybody want to set that up? I guess it would have to be done today!

Pick teams you know that are going to win....easy wins.....always play safe first and don't pick hard matches unless you're forced to..

i've played survivor (aka: knockout pool) for about 10 years now. i've never won. never even made it to the last few weeks (when the remaining players get scared and decide to split the pot).

i have no advice because there's nothing i would have done different. except maybe not have picked the broncos in week 1 last season...

who am i kidding. we ALL picked the broncos......damnit. i'm pissed again.
