    Just another reason not to listen to FNZ. Penner was the last shred of real sports credibility FNZ had.

    opening comments

    Mac was between a rock and a hard place. From his comments it was clear that Penner was let go. However, he was not about to give up the juice...he said, in so many words, 'hey, I have a boss too'.

    Handled it in as classy a fashion as he could have, saying he had talked to Penner several times, would see him later today, and wished him the best.

    Absolutely no info...would be fascinating to hear the inside scoop.

    heard Steve Czaban talking a month or two ago saying on air " one of his ex-co-hosts from Philly was trying hard to get a job back there". he often talks of Penner and has him on his show from time to time

    I wish Penner the best. I really liked him, but Mac is a piece of shit when it comes to sports radio. He maybe a good guy outside of radio, but he sucks from noon to 3.

    Penner was at his best w/ Czaban. I hope he lands on his feet.

    Truth.

    I guess I'm just not in the target demo, because I enjoyed that show. Plus I have all my "teefs" and actually hold a degree from the institution I cheer for, and seem to be gainfully employed. I have no idea why you'd want to target my demo. The alternative is so much better. :twocents:

    Today I emailed a national syndicated sports radio host who's buddies w/ Penner. He said what happened to Sandy "was a crock". So obviously Penner got canned. I wonder why.

    I heard 1660 may be switching formats, possibly to news talk. Anybody heard anything on that?

    It is being rumored that 1660 will be making a flip soon but who knows what it will be...

    Danny Fontana's AM on 1220 in Kings MT is rumored to be a talker when they increase their power any day now.

    There will be a new AM move in on 870. It is licensed to Mt Holly and will be daytime only due to being on a full clear. It will be interesting to hear what they are gonna do...

    btw, Mark...Congrats on the Davidson PxP job.
