I'm very excited about this kid.

We haven't discussed him much, so I wanted to.

Hope he's the real deal. Not another Shelton.

He doesn't seem to be. He looks like he has grasped the playbook (so far!) and looks like he runs lower than Shelton. He also seems to LOVE being here, where as Shelton (according to Pitch's--I think it was his-- observations) didn't look too happy to be here.

I can't wait to see him in "real" game situations and not in a scrimmages/practices.

    he's our type kid.
He'll be interesting with 2nd teamers but I can't wait to see him following Wahle into the hole midseason.

I've heard all this talk about Shelton 'not happy here'.

Well, it doesn't sound too awful unreasonable.

When he was drafted relatively high, he thought a spot was his. Then he knows right off last year that Foster was ahead of him. Then he gets IRd right off over very little.

Then to top it off, we draft a talented back right off this year, and camp is chock full of talent: of which, he could be the #4 or worse if he's not careful, and possibly not any better than #3 if he works his ass off.

He should be happy that he's in the NFL like DW is, but I think he might have been spoiled where he came from, and he's not a star now.

Instead, he's not a star, has heavy competition, and he might not be able to learn the playbook all that well, etc.

So, maybe he is unhappy. If he is, and shows it, then chalk him up to being a turd and move on. It's no big deal. Sure, I'd like to see him do well and add as a big back, etc., but there's no sense in coddling him because he has 'potential' on paper.

I'm fine with Foster, DW, Haynes, Goings and Hoover + maybe other FB. If he's a #4 ahead of Robertson, so be it. I'm sure we won't cut him this year, and he's gotta be better'n Robertson. If he wants to pout, than we don't need him.

I'm happy with the state of dpeth at our RBs. But our O eats up backs so bad, I hope we have enough for the season so we aren't down to nothing by next January and need somebody. That ain't good, no matter how many or how good our horses are regular season.
