It was a joke, he said something about bringing college football to Charlotte but it's already here.

VA49er, there aren't any names on that site that I could find after looking again. It makes it seem shady. I wouldn't donate without some kind of definition of exactly who is collecting the money.

I don't think those amounts are actual dollars. I think they are just "pledges" that people have said they would give.

If the site listed the people organizing it, they might get some real dollars.

The Observer covered this. These folks are known to 49er fans. I think its an admirable way to drum up and gauge support, but I think Jimmy & these guys are too handicapped by the lack of anything tangible to put in front of people.

We are not collecting any money ourselves. We are asking for people to pledge their support for football by letting the administration know how much they WOULD donate to help start up football and how much the WOULD donate yearly and how many season tickets the WOULD purchase.

This list is simply a tool to give that administration to tell them either "YES" there is interest in football and here's 2000 names and 3 million dollars in pledges to prove it or "NO" maybe there isn't much interest and they can stay on the same path they have been on for the last 60 years.

AGAIN NO MONEY IS COLLECTED BY THIS GROUP, so there is no excuse not to get on the list. Besides the article clearly states who the people involved with this are....

Why does Charlotte need a college football team. The Saints and the Browns are coming to town this year. They are college level material

I'm betting there's more than that.

I'm not counting State fans. They've got enough problems. :laugh1:
