There is actually a very good case to be made that the people in these positions are actually so risk averse as to not be as informed as people here - or at least not to act on that knowledge.

A great example this would be Billy Beane. He was consistantly ridiculed by some "baseball people" for his reliance on stats but ended up shifting the entire pardigm of baseball.

I don't think you have to be Alan Greenspan to build a spreadsheet to figure this stuff out. It's not like it's much more complex than the finances of any other business.

Seriously, why did I never get a Rantbot? Is my brain too complex to simulate?

No, you assume that anyone at that level with an NFL team is more qualified than I am. Given some of the morons that run teams around the league, I strenuously disagree, but we'd be assuming in either case. Obviously it's unlikely that some poster on a message board would be better at running a team than someone who does, but why should that be impossible? Just like any other business, hiring and promotions are as much or more about connections than talent. Do you mean to tell me that CEOs are always smarter than the other employees of the company or even people not affiliated with the company at all? I doubt it. Moreover, I think your bitterness towards me is prompting your objection in the first place.

In all seriousness, I'll stack my test scores, IQ, and football knowledge against any coach or football executive you want. Some like Belichick would crush me like a bitch. I'd guess that the majority would be beyond me as well, largely on the feel of what their experience in the industry has given them, but I'm pretty confident that I would be more qualified than some of those guys.

Who knows. Maybe there's a hidden gem somewhere in the annals of TBR. I would say that Beane is a fairly rare case. I would hope that someone (like myself) who spends more than an hour posting on an MB a day could be advancing his/her career in more productive arenas. But, hey, ya never know. We might have a whole litter of future VP of Ops here.:trophy:

Sorry chief....wasn't implying you at all, but I appreciate the feedback.

Go for your dreams bro. You know your stuff, and you'd be a great FO guy.

Actually, we did simulate your brain. It could't even learn how to beat a dog's brain in tic, tac, toe - so we figured it was a bust.

Plus, we never got your waiver form back.

This is what I like about Collin. He's always so modest.

At least he clarified that Belichick might know more football that him. That's somewhat modest.
