RB - I can really envision Davis being that short yardage monster that Bettis is in Pittsburgh and Jacobs is in NY. However, with our cap situation I don't see him coming back.

TE - We need a sure target over the middle ala Heath Miller/Wesley Walls/Chris Cooley. Mangum is slow and has hands of stone. I still say if we had such a talent, provided he wasn't awful in blocking, we'd use him.

Agree on WR. I'd love an upgrade, but who?

O-line - I have more hope for Wharton at this point than I do Gross. Gross seems physically overmatched. If we straight cut his ass, it wouldn't bother me at this point, since you have to leave him on the right side and you have to give him help. I say we draft a guy to take that spot or pick one up in FA. Also, I hope Mathis can snap, cause that's where he needs to be next year, IMHFO.

    1. Bring back Spoon and McCree
    2. Bring in a veteran wide out who can start ex. Eric Moulds
    3. Draft a running back we expect to start ex. LenDale White
    4. Let Reyes walk and pencil in Mathis as our new starter
    5. Find a new center

I think we will be good next year even if all we do is bring back Spoon and find a better #2 wideout.

while i dont blame him for anything i would like to see a new o coordinator. i just dont like henning's game plans. and he never really adjusts anything until it is too late. i think with a better coordinator jake would do better and the panthers would be better (balanced). i hope fox gets rid of henning and brings in a fresh face with some better ideas.

that seems like overkill on changes for a team that made it to the championship game.

i've been reading where miami might be looking to trade ricky williams this year. that would help you guys alot if the coaches can put up with his quirks.

and i agree with mr. catz. the team does needs an oc that can make adjustments early. same thing happened to the colts and the games were almost identical in terms of the panthers and colts looking like the other teams' bitches.

Just a FYI... Davis is the same weight as Witherspoon is now.

    :agreed:

But I'd also like to sign a real receiving threat to complement Smitty. Then handle all of the D concerns, including DT, LB & nickel back.

We gotta get better at skill positions. IMO Foster is gone no matter what we offer him. He wants to go back to the west coast but where?
    Seattle? Alexander
    San Diego? LT
    Oakland? Jordan
San Francisco would be his only viable choice because Barlow sucks ass

Colbert hasn't shown he could be anything other than a 3rd option IMO
Phroel leaves via retirement so we need to bring in a younger veteren to fill the same role.

I pin 80% of the loss to Seattle on the offensive line play. Wharton isn't a NFL caliber offensive tackle talent IMO. Slide him insode to take Reyes spot and either draft one or sign a street guy with some talent.

Bite the bullet and resign WW and Marlon Mcree

As far as drafting. Trade up and select Len Dell White if you can't resign Foster or pick up a veteren like Ahman Green that "could be" signed at an appropriate wage based upon his age and injury history. If you retain Foster then a first round selection ought to be a OT like the Texas OT or a WR.
