When I use IE6, the Links on the Link Toolbar are shown in an A to Z (alphabetical) order. I have checked all the settings, and I can't seem to change the way in which the Links are laid out. And if I manually arrange (click and drag) the links as I want them on the link toolbar, when I close IE6, my settings aren't remembered.

I remember having this problem in the past with previous versions of Internet Explorer, yet I do remember that there was a provision that allowed the end user to change the order of the links.

Also, curiously enough, icon graphics aren't displayed either...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

For starters Icon graphics are stored in temp memory. Once its purged the image is no longer there. There is a program that will hold them, but frankly its just a picture so I so no point in needing to save it. As far as order it is set to be in Alphabetical order always has been. If you wanna reorder it in any way simply put them in alphabetical order however you want. do something like this

    (a) - Hotmail
    (b) - This Board Rocks
    (c) - Yahoo
    etc.

Numerical Order comes before alphabetical order so you may wann consideder using:

    01 - Hotmail
    02 - This Board Rocks
    03 - Yahoo
    etc

If I remember correctly, folders you can put in any order, but not links.

If you go to Favorites | Organize favorites and move them around there they will keep that setting.

Thanks all, for the the helpful suggestions. Problem is, while I have no problem rearranging the links on the link toolbar, and while the links remain in order while I am surfing for that session, once I close down and restart my system, I lose my settings (links go back to alphabetical order).

That's why I said to do it with the numbers before each link. Simply rename them and add the numbers.

This should work too. You have to do more than drag and drop sometimes.
