People do not want to watch a TV show about a war that is still going on.

Granted I am not the most unbiased on the subject but I assumed it was just another way to attack the war effort by the entertainment industry so I never checked it out. I think television shows about wars are generally not a good idea until the war has been over for several years. Even shows like MASH would have had a hard time if they had come on during the Korean war.

well the few episodes I saw weren't exactly pro war the whole time. It tried to portray more of a soldiers doing what they do to survive image.

While it wasn't horrible, it didn't compare well when you look at how awesome FX's other series have been recently...

It didn't attack the war effort at all. In fact, one episode actually highlighted how what happened got totally skewed when it was reported in the media afterwards - making the military guys look bad, really opposite of the reality of the particular situation. It didn't support the war either. It really came off very neutral in that respect, IMO.

Basically just followed one group of soldiers in Iraq from the day they left to go to Iraq and afterwards, and also their families in the States and what was going on with them. Sometimes the soldiers were just bored, sometimes they did quite heroic things, sometimes they did things that were a bit questionable. Their families were mixed too, some very good and supportive and others not so much. Basically, I think it was pretty representative of the mix of good and bad that can be demonstrated in any war.

I enjoyed it! Would have liked to see it come back. Wonder if there was any political issues of why it isn't coming back or was it the ratings just sucked!
