If you can't go to Mexico (or Chicago)....

then my vote is for Azteca in Matthews (off 74). There are other Azteca places, including Don Pedro's. But for service, ambiance and food, the one on 74 is best. Been dying to try a place on Harris Blvd. called Los Cazadores and another on Colony called Bonita Maria.

Stay away from La Paz unless you like cheddar cheese. Monterrey is bland, Mi Mexico in Pineville needs improvement.

Well, since Chicago or Mexico isn't really withing a lunch hour's trip, I'm glad you reccomend Azteca. That's where I always go since it's only a few minutes away from the house. I wasn't sure and I figured you'd know.

have you tried Los Dependos on Waxoff Blvd? Their double chili bean burrito (AKA, "The Big E.I.D.") will purge your bowels nicely.

Drive down Central. Past Kilborne and see where the Mexicans are eating and go there. The old Bojangles is always packed. I guess they would know Mexican food pretty well. Let me know when you want some again my neighbors have 4 birthday parties a year and we eat Mexican over there then.

Try La Casa in Concord (2 locations). I had the Burro del something for lunch the other day and it was awesome. I can't remember the name but it was a Chicken burrito dipped in beer then smothered in ranchero sauce with pico and refried beans for $4.25
