Well, as luck would have it, I've been working on my body tonight. Wife and kids at the beach for 5 days, I'm on the second day of a 5 day drunk.

BTW, if we could get anybody to shoot like a Beasley, we will truly have something.

Hey Hawki, you liking Baseball again since the O's are Okay??

And Barry, hoisting a trophy ain't exactly taking up for somebody, you know I'm hurt. Floyd says the Yankees will be okay as soon as Johnson gets used to pitching in NY. I know you'll sleep better.

Will new NBA age effect Beasley?
    By Jason Jordan, NinerReport.com Publisher

Michael Beasley doesn't mind saying that the NBA's new collective bargaining agreement, which includes, among other things, a new 19-year-old age limit, is unfair.

"I don't really like that," he simply said.

Beasley, a consensus top five prospect in the class of 2007, has maintained his position since the talks began, but said that he never thought it would pass with NBA players like Jermaine O'Neal chiming in on how they too felt the new rule was unfair.

Under the new proposed agreement players who are not 19 by draft night would be ineligible to declare. American players are eligible for the draft the year their high school class graduates.
Beasley will turn 18 on January 9.

"It definitely would effect me," he said.

Foreign players must be 18 by draft night under the new agreement.

"Now that's what I really don't like." Beasley said of the foreign players age limit. "That's not fair. Everyone in America going to the NBA out of high school is black for the most part. (Robert Swift was the first white high school player to enter the Draft last year).

"My personal opinion is that they're trying to cut all of the young black kids out of the league. The numbers were going up every year of high school players going straight there."

From 1998-2000 the average number of high school players to enter the NBA Draft was just under three. From 2001-2003 that number doubled to just under six. Nine high schoolers made the leap last year, and this year 11 high school players are entering the Draft.

"They're basically trying to make kids go to college," Beasley said. "I planned to do that anyway, but if David Stern wanted to call my name in the lottery I don't think I could stop him. I don't think it's fair to take away the option."

Now it seems nothing it going to stop Beasley from going to Charlotte. He plans on visiting the Niners next month with his teammate Nolan Smith.

"We wanted to come down this month," Beasley said. "The schedule is just hectic right now."

Once there, Beasley said he doesn't want the glits and glamour.

"Do you remember "He got Game," Beasley asked. "You know in that movie he got all the perks and stuff, but I don't really want that. I just want to hear what's real. I want to know if I'm going to come in and get the playing time right away. If I'm not… I don't mind, but just be up front with me."

Next season Beasley and Smith are headed to prep powerhouse Oak Hill Academy. He's already gotten to know his future teammates, Tywon Lawson and Kevin Durant both are top 15 players in the class of 2006, at the NBA Players Association Camp that's currently going on in Richmond. Beasley was dominant Wednesday inside and out.

"I don't think I'm going to come in there and average 20 points and 10 rebounds," Beasley said of the move to Oak Hill. "I think I'll contribute and let the seniors do their thing. I'm just going to play my game."

And he can do that at any age.

I don't think we'll have any trouble finding 35+ mpg for this guy. If he brings Nolan with him, I don't think we'll have any problem finding 35 for him either.

I didn't know they had Hooters in the mountains. Randy Johnson looked good against T.B. The O's injuries are beginning to catch up with them. I can't believe Surhoff just went on the D.L. I think the Braves want to trade for him and maybe Stanton. How bout a little wager on the Bravos and Orioles series Barry. Scared say scared!

Damn, talking junk about the Hoffer.

How does second place feel courtesy of the Bravos?

Did I see this too late to bet on the series?

Does the rabbit still run this time of the year in Salisbury? Or does the little philly plant down the size 7?
