looking for a used laptop

    requirements for the software my wife needs to run are:

    32-bit system
    pentium II 300mhz or higher
    32MB ram or higher
    45MB disk space
    VGA monitor 1024 X 768 X 16-bit color
    OS Win95 or higher
    Win NT 2000 or XP Pro must have admin privs
    Modem 56K baud and CDROM 16x CD-ROM or higher
    Internet Explorer 5.0 and optional internet access

    other requirements:
    i'd like to make it wireless for internet/printer, which are right now directly connected to my iMac.



    any suggestions for what to look for on eBay? or what a good price is?

    that's all this laptop needs to run.

    If all you needs is a PII, don't pay more than $75. Seriously.

    it is 233mhz with 32megs of ram, that seems like it will struggle running windows xp.

    • CD-ROM or DVD drive

    • Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device

    Take it from a Tech

    A 300Mhz unit will have some issues running XP cleanly......You need @ least 500Mhz to be in the ballpark ready to play....Remember Billie Boy telling us Win95 would run on 8MBs, so......take my advise with a grain of salt...and pull my finger.....

    yeah, we're still looking...

    the battery is an issue. i'm seeing ones with dead batteries -- that's another hun right there.
