    yup given a year or two more he could be a player.

    Richardson is a FA too I think and I don't see him returning.

    If Peete is seriously coming back I think the team needs to cut Weinke loose too. Rutherford is a hell of a lot cheaper as a 3rd QB and has more upside.

    Agree. Weinke is 1.5 million. thats too damn much for him. why do we hold on to him? hoe does he effect the cap if we release him?

    Weinke's in the final year of his contract, so the total savings would be his salary.

    I'd bet, if (when) they bring back Peete, we'll hope that Weinke has a good pre-season and then try and get something for him.

    Anyone think the Browns might have some interest in Weinke? They're really, really hurting at QB right now.

    they're trying to trade for Dilfer, but I'd give weinke for william green probably.

    Weinke deserves a shot somewhere. He's been pretty cool about riding the pine here, and he can play a little.
