I wouldn't. A lose to VaTech is going to be remembered a lot more harshly than a slipup to a team at the start of the season.

BTW, us losing to ECU is a poor comparison. They did not come from another major conference the year before (where they finished at the bottom), we were not picked to be a top seed in the NCAA tournament (we weren't even picked to be a high seed in our conference tournament), our conference is not touted as the best in the country, and so on and so forth. Duke should NEVER lose to VaTech. There's not even the history there like with Chapel Hill and Clemson.

The fact that VaTech has done so well makes the conference look bad in the first place, but that they took down half of the top dogs is even worse. VaTech should have trouble splitting with Clemson and FSU, not be beating GaTech (@ Gatech, no less) and Duke.

I can't deny that I don't take some delight in the ACC being exposed by a terrible team, but I don't hate the ACC at all. In fact, I am a fan. I just like watching good basketball. But, losing to VaTech is not good basketball. Hell, even ECU could challenge VaTech.

I will agree that the ACC is down somewhat this season. I would'nt have said that at the beginning of the season though. But saying that the conference as a whole looks bad is a bit of a stretch. Inconsistent may the a better description. I think sly said something about waiting til March......I think I'll wait and see too.

Well Duke beat UNC so VT must be better than UNC, right?

Duke will probably lose 2 more ACC games, at UNC and Ga Tech. I think they'll beat Wake tomorrow. Any takers? I'll take Duke even.

VaTech won at GaTech, I think Duke can too.

The conference is inconsistent. But, I think that's part of the reason why it is only a good conference and not a great one.

    Greatness

I think the fact that any team can beat any team at anytime makes it a great conference. From one to eleven, there strong all the way down. And the fact that the predicted 10 and 11 finishers are playing well, shows just how strong the conference is

So, we lost to ECU. Following your logic, that makes CUSA a great conference.

Nope, not buying that bullshit line chief. VaTech is bad, and they are beating "quality" ACC teams. That doesn't make a conference good, that a team that sucks is winning a lot of games.

You're right, ECU could probably beat VaTech, that was a bad comparison.
