Its simple, find a way to bring back moose. Damn, the man had some of the best numbers in the league at WR. He made plays when he was the ONLY one to make plays and other teams knew it. I dont want the offense to rely on injured players just coming back and a second year man. He's a pro bowl player, no team can call that expendable.

Hines ward makes less than 2/3 as much as Moose. Moose is top 10 payed reciever and Hines is 29th for what it's worth.

Well, the fact that you don't like Henning's scheme or Fox's idea of football is evident. That's not wrong, that's a trend I have picked up on by reading your stuff, most of which is thorough.

Field position is what won us the NFC title game last year. Punting was not a bad play, no matter what anyone thinks.

His numbers would have come down some, but consider this:
the final 8 games of 2003, including the one catch/11 yard game at AZ, Moose had 36 rec, 585 yards, 2 scores. That's a season-projected 72/1170/4. Not bad.

    And that was with Smith.

Add in the postseason, when the O picked up, 15/352/2, which over four games is pretty damn decent (especially considering we barely threw at all in Philly). It would be ridiculous to expect him to put that up for a full season, but that's still only 60/1408/8, again with Smith here. He put up numbers better than that this year, and yeah, without Smith here it's hard to say he'd be a Pro Bowler, but he's certainly been more than just a contributor with Smith here, and more than occasionally the leading receiver.

You made specific assumptions of what I think. That's dangerous stuff. And it was wrong.

Do I have problems with how we manage a game? Yes. Do we overuse a back? I"ve proven that. That doesn't mean I want to go no-huddle all game. A

nd if we had passed more, we still would've beaten Philly. All year we went into a lull, ran out the clock, and hoped the D would save us, and if not, that Delhomme would at the last second. This year it just didn't work out as well.

Listen, I would love to keep them all.

You tell me that there is no such thing as being pragmatic. Just optimistic or pessimistic.

    Ok.

I don't agree, but maybe that's just the pessimist in me.

I feel like you have to look at all the issues from a business standpoint. It's not complex: If Moose and his agent request Marvin-Money, that he will have to play somewhere else next season.

You can't upgrade everything at once when you have shit to work with for cap room. You have to prioritize. And my priority would be to improve in other aread besides holding on to a very good receiver.

I guess that makes me a loser. But it's reality, and it's just a matter of time before it's a done deal. So I would start thinking about what we do in light of Moose taking a hike.

nice links...you should get on that  divert, dodge, mock, do everything you have to, but the proof is there. We wear our backs down with meaningless carries.

That, my friend, is a dangerous assumption.

To me, going on the road in the Title Game and passing 13 times, and winning, is a testament to the discipline of this offensive staff. I don't see it as "oh, well, we could have thrown more and still won." I think had we thrown more, then one of those blitzes would have caused JD to make a bad throw and turn the game in Philly's favor (ALA....Favre in OT in the divisional round.)

    Proof?

    What proof?

Davis had a bum knee, yes, due in part to the workload. But he was not brought here to play tiddlywinks.

Name one back that he has worn down, please.

    .

It's really funny how I said that in the post you're arguing against me with, as if I hadn't said it.

That's the thing. You've shown no reason that we'll have no cap room, and just automatically expect the worst - failure in negotiations with Muhsin, for instance. That's why I said it's a loser's mentality. I'm not calling you a loser, dummy.
