I don't know where to begin but I have doubts that VT repeats as ACC champ. I'm a Heel fan and I suspect they finish somewhere in the middle...I know Durant is gone and some will expect what happened at State after losing Rivers...I've never like durant and think Baker will do just fine. He's gotten reps in games which I believe hurt NCS's young QB's - Rivers took every snap for 4 years.

The cream always rises to the top - FSU, Miami, UVA and VT. FSU has it easiest of the 4 IMO due to the division alignment.

Middle of the pack - Maryland, NCSU, Clemson, BC will beat each other up and still have to face FSU in their division.

Lower tier - UNC, GT, Wake, these three are dangerous but still have alot to prove.

Bottom rung - Duke, Ted Roof is getting the most out of what he has, which isn't much IMO look for 2 ACC wins next year.

About UNC QB's, keep your eye on Heinz. He'll give Baker a run for his money if not win the job.

We actually return a bunch of folks. Losing Randall will hurt. Need a few DB's too. I guess we have to see what little Vick can do when he gets off the booze and teenagers. Expectations will probably rise going into next year and that's when we usually have problems.

I've enjoyed the run this year as much as Carolina fan, but I'm sorry, UNC without Durant will be terrible. The defense will still suck and the O won't be half as good (although we do have some good running backs).

I disagree about the defense sucking...This team played a lot of guys and they did get better throughout the year. Durant was a good QB capable of making big plays but he was always a turnover waiting to happen.

Those are both REALLY good calls there. I'd agree UNC has improved this year, but next season will be big for them. They'll need to be able to keep up their improvement, and whether you like Durant on not, his loss is gonna be a big hit. If they can transition good into the next QB whoever that is, then Carolina has a legit chance to continue its momentum. As far as QB's go I think you have to factor Baker, Heinz, and even the freshman Sexton into this year's mix. Baker being the most experienced, Sexton being the most talented, and Heinz being the mid point of the other two. He has more athletic ability than Baker and he's got more experience than Sexton.
