Second year, no? If so, he's a RFA after next season, UFA after that.

    RAIDERS NOTEBOOK
Go-to receiver Curry lost for season
Nancy Gay, David Bush, Chronicle Staff Writers

Just when quarterback Kerry Collins found his playmaker on offense, Ronald Curry was struck down.

A 22-yard pass from Collins and a routine ankle tackle by Chiefs safety Willie Pile late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 34-27 loss to Kansas City left the Raiders' second-year receiver on crutches with what he believes is a torn left Achilles tendon.

"I did it a couple of years ago (1999) to my right one and it had that same kind of feeling. It felt kind of like an indention, like somebody pushed it in,'' said Curry, who caught nine passes for a career-high 141 yards and two touchdowns. "I came back from that one strong, so hopefully that will happen with this one, too.''

Raiders coach Norv Turner didn't have an exact diagnosis -- Curry will undergo an MRI exam today -- but everyone conceded that Collins' best target this season is done for the year.

"It's really disappointing. The guy was just playing out of this world,'' said Collins, who threw for 343 yards and three touchdowns. "He's a heck of a competitor and a big part of what we were doing.''

Said Raiders receiver Jerry Porter: "Ron Curry was playing a hell of a game and it was just unfortunate that he got hurt. And it really hurts us as a team.''

John Stone, activated Nov. 21 from the practice squad, replaced Curry and caught his first NFL pass with 1:51 remaining.

he's been quoted as saying he's playing his favorite position/sport

...would be a pretty cool story line with him & Pep, but you include Moose the next several years, we're pretty fucking deep at WR already

He is in the second year of his contract. I believe he has a three year contract so he still has one more year.
yep...torn left Achilles' tendon. He had the same injury on the right side in college
    Hampton VA yes
Out for the rest of the season, but hoping to be back for spring training. They're saying 6 months and they think he'll be more than ready for the spring.
