Playoff race!

Unfortunately the only way our current team is probably going to cash in on that this season is if Vick gets hurt. Normally, I would hate to get through that way but with all of our injuries this year and as much as I HATE the foulcunts . . . I WOULD TAKE IT AND LOVE IT.

 

Rake I think your sentiment is kinda whacked. I don;t even understand the question.

If we can manage to goto the playoffs after a 1-7 start, the team we're fielding will be able to beat any other team in the NFL. We'll be on an 8 game win streak.

If we can't win out, we won't be there. But if we can - we're very fucking good.

 

Do I want them in the playoffs with this roster?
I want them in the playoffs, but I'd rather not take a monstrous ass beating.
I want them in the playoffs, but I don't want them to think that this offseason "worked". We don't have 5-6 wins to piss away every year so we can put the minimum into a couple positions and hope they come together at some point.

 

yeah, i was just thinking about that the other day. Given the few sacks that Jake has taken, and the fact that Goings has back to back 100 yard games will probably just reinforce the decisions that put our 0-line in this shape. Even if Meadows could have played, we were still fucked at guard until Wharton was thrown in and stepped up. I figure if Maser can make this O-line look good, we'll have 300 pound dudes off the street in camp next year.

Have some just decided that the OL sucks no matter what? If they are pass protecting and run blocking what more can you ask for? Sure keep them stocked with as many good looking players as possible but I see no need for any huge changes.

Why ever try at anything damn we won't even have to play philly, or atlanta until the second round and maybe not phily until the nfc championship. Say we made it won our first round game, got atlanta in the second, vick goes down we beat them, and everyone knows philly will fold in the nfc finals, there you go. This is a little farfetched but makes more sense than saying we will lose anyway so lets give up. Damn that would be stupid.

Do we, or do we not, still need a right tackle? Could we or could we not get better at guard? I mean, shit, a month ago all people wanted to talk about was what cocksucking lineman would come in the high first round but a couple of wins and suddenly everything's great?

 

First off, yes, we all want the team in the playoffs.
And no, I don't want the team to think that Nick Goings is the $6 mil man and that our line's great. We're not that good a football team right now.
