Welllllllllllllllll, my Coca-Cola Center prediction didn't pan out (though it still may happen) :( :( . . . . Erik Spanberb (CLT BIZ JOURNAL Reporter) had some comments from industry experts saying a regional company may be more apt to buy the naming rights for the new UPtown Arena vs. a major national company because 1) Charlotte is a 2nd tier market 2) there is only 1 tennant in the building vs. 2 (i.e. nba/nhl).

Bobcats Look to ink Naming Rights Deal

    POSSIBLE CANDIDATES:

    BANKS: BB&T, First Citizens are 2nd tier major banks . . .

RETAIL: Food Lion, Winn-Dixie, Lowes, Belks-I don't see a grocery store chain paying top money for a naming rights deal. I could see Lowes getting interested in a deal . . .

SERVICES/INDUSTRIAL: How about Duke Power? Coke Consolidated (2nd largest bottler next to Coke USA in Atlanta) ? ? ? Or maybe a telecommunications company (Sprint, Cingular, BELLSOUTH, AT&T) ? ? ?

Those are the only companies locally I can think of who might be interested in making a deal . . . . Can y'all think of any other ? ? ? ?
