They did a feature on the 2 LIVE STEWS show on 790 THE ZONE in Atlanta as part of the article . . . These 2 guys started out on the station's overnight shift but as time moved on, their audience grew and they started getting a better time slot. They are now on from 1-4pm in the Afternoon (these guys should be an inspiration for the BALL OF CONFUSION on WFNZ . . U can move up the pecking order enough :thumbup: :thumbup: !!!! )

There was a map at the end of the article highlighting the other top sportstalk shows in the country . . . Hmmmmmmmmmm, someone is missing from the list . . . I think these guys made a mistake, don't you think ? ? ?

 

Where did they get the field of 64 women from? WFNZ post game show today has shawn and the guy ffrom the golf show. Good job WFNZ. I take it that Rod Smith can only do the pre game.

I am now home terminaled out of ATL (home residence is still the CLT area), so I get a chance to hear the STEWS regularly, along with the major shows from both stations. Actually, if WFNZ give THE PLAYAS CLUB a chance, it may have made it, however, an urban oriented sports talk show works a whole lot better in ATL than CLT due to demographics.

PS on 680 The Fan, Jamie Dukes in the morning is quite good too in the Rude Awakening Show.

 

No, no one is missing from the list. Well obviously, ESPN's programming is stellar, and Steve Czaban's show of Fox Sports Radio is great, but I think they had no intentions of comparing national shows with local shows. So to answer your questrion, no one is missing from the list.

It was interesting to learn Boston does a Whiner Line segment. You don't think someone ever stole that idea, and put it to use here in the Charlotte market, do you?!

 

Mike Kellog use to work at WEEI in Bahston in the late 1990's when he came to WFNZ and remade the station (Mike works at the Sporting News Radio affiliate there now) . . . I think Matt Pinto & then Packman incorporated the WHINER LINE into PRIMETIME . . . . .

 

what about the Robert D. Raford "bitch line" on John Boy and Billy. thats been around forever. could have ripped it off from him, he seems to have ripped off John Boy pretty good

Just curious...how long has Packer been on in CLT?

 

Packman has been on WFNZ since August 1997 . . . First, he was paired with Penner on the noon show and Matt Pinto was doing PRIMETIME . . . When Matt left town to go work for the Mavs radio network, Packman got pegged to do PRIMETIME . . .

 

I haven't had him on in CLT in over a year baby!!! XM Radio my man!
