Hornets' Brandon Miller has season-ending wrist surgery

 

"Ball, 23, has had a history of ankle injuries since being drafted by the Hornets with the third pick in 2020. He has missed 158 games during his NBA career due to injury.
Ball has been wearing braces this season to help protect his ankles.
He is averaging a career-best 28.2 points per game, but Ball was not chosen an All-Star starter despite leading all Eastern Conference guards in voting."

Shocking. Not. With there being 82 games in the NBA regular season that means that at age 23 Ball has missed almost 2 years of playing time. Ball being the main draw for ticket sales on the Hornets means if he isn't playing then Ball fans ain't buying tickets, concessions, etc...
When non Ball fans see him as a spoiled diva punk who is good at basketball, but seems to lacking in communication and other real world skills. Then how long does it take before most fans see him that way?

 

Trade

 

The Washington Wizards are now 8-41 on the season and 3 of those 8 wins are against our beloved Hornets.
The Hornets are now at a sad, but normal 12-35. big whoop

L.A. agreed to send rookie Dalton Knecht, Cam Reddish, a 2031 unprotected first-round pick and a 2030 pick swap to the Hornets for Williams, sources told Charania, landing the big man that vice president of basketball operations and general manager Rob Pelinka admitted the team was lacking heading into Thursday's trade deadline."

Lose one center pick up another. The trading of the oft injured Williams does shock me.

 

Hornets might not come out too bad after this. Knecht could really be good for us.
Nurkic could fill the role Williams played and be on the floor waaaaaaay more.

so basically, it was getting Knecht and future 1st round pick, another 1st rounder for Cody Martin and a future 2nd round pick

There is lots of talk about LaMelo. I would like to see him to go San Antonio for a huge package.

 

The clueless fans will do some boycotting if LaMelo gets traded, but it would tickle me.

 

So let's say LaMelo grows some actual ankles and stays
Then we have Miller that will be back
We have a very competent center
We have Knecht who can score

all we need is Cooper Flagg and we have the makings of an actual team?

 

I know, at the least the fans can dream.
