"Pass-rusher D.J. Wonnum plans to sign a two-year contract with the Carolina Panthers, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Thursday.

The deal is worth $12.5 million, a source told ESPN's David Newton."

Wonnum is yet another playet who looks awesome getting off the bus but doesn't do a whole lot when the game starts.

$6mil a year vs. $30mil a year for the same number of sacks last season.

Cap casualties. It's a great year for them to purge that position since they'll have their pick of #1 WR at 5.

I'm all for signing Mike Williams to a one year deal. The team still needs a split end of the Mike Evans profile, and I don't expect Mingo to be anything better than a gadget player anytime soon.

To prove that I'm not just shitting on the team by default, I'm a big fan of these one year deals. Low risk, high upside, and all of these players are relatively young with strong pedigree.

Good. This is what you do when you're starting from rock bottom - not hand out massive guarantees. More of the former, Dan.
