Franchise is 2 firsts if you pass on the contract someone else offers them.
Exclusive franchise is no one else can talk to them.
transitional is only you get to match an offer from another team no picks if you pass.

Restricted FA is for players that have 3 seasons: you give them a contract that gives you a certain pick if you pass on a contract (IE at some pay level its a 3rd at another its a 2nd) RFA is mostly gone as teams sign draft picks to 4 year deals. You see it happen with UDFAs that moved around on 1 year deals or players that got cut before their rookie contract is up.

 

I'd rather pay him and keep a good player to build around, than do what we have been doing and let our good players go.

 

I understand that $27mil was offered and he was firm on $30mil.

It seems to me that most people still don't understand what we're up against with David Tepper as the owner. They're looking for a strategy or plan where there isn't one.
