Also, I guess I have to be the one to say the unpopular thing per usual, but Steve Smith was a fucking asshole who punched two teammates, sulked by himself during and after the 2003 NFC Championship, was trying to get out of Carolina years before Gettleman cut him, and then spent several years being openly hostile to the team before Tepper handed him a wad of cash. I grow tired of guys like Peppers being raked over the coals for the sin of introversion while the fanbase worships one of the most toxic players in team history. He was great on the field and deserves to be remembered as such, but all of that other stuff definitely diminishes him in my eyes.

Peppers made it look so easy, that when teams were able to contain him...it appeared he didn't care. Plus, when he was contained, USUALLY, someone else shined.
