Depends on how they want to build the team- Reich walked into a pretty good defense and was supposed to fix the offense and was under ballard so I'm not sure what his ideal team looks like. Fitterer being from Seattle would theoretically prefer a strong D and a training wheels don't screw up offense.

The Panthers have had several other major, franchise crippling issues outside of a QB solution. It's not like we've been the good team that can't get over the divisional round hump. This team has been fucking awful for half a decade. You don't fix this with one position.

 

I've read a few things saying the Panthers could still trade back. Also seeing more Stroud talk, which I like better.

 

Wouldn't a franchise QB make several other things better?
It should be a given that it makes WRs better? TEs better? The RPO plays would make the defense concentrate less on the RBs thus giving them more opportunity for holes in the defense?
Putting the opposing defenses on their heels more?
Giving the Panthers defense less time on the field and not being as gassed in the 4th quarter?
I agree those are things looking through rose colored glasses and ignoring all it takes is for one of those things not to happen and everything else after that would be a slog.

 

Sure, but the level of force multiplying QB that you're describing is exceedingly rare. There's also a wide concescus that this unicorn doesn't exist in the 2023 draft. Even the people who orgasm over Young admit that his size is a major NFL concern.

It would still be a horrible trade if they picked Stroud. You've made it virtually impossible to fix this roster for the foreseeable future.


Cam was basically awesome right away, but it still took the team a few years to fix the broken parts around him. It was a bad situation overall. Now you have the same problem minus the awesome rookie.

 

And cam walked onto a team with: gross, 89, jstew, Kalil.

They added Olsen and Shockey too.

And chud was a better OC than anyone we've had since henning.

Really they needed to fix up the D and get Cam through his growing pains.

Now we need to fix the D with brown and ??- build an offense- moton?- and grow bryce. And before you ever grow him you gotta unfuck this year from his brain.
