We certainly need one more for the D Line rotation. I assume it might be just after the draft if we don't land a cheaper option there

As things progress, I am optimistic about our new coaching staff.

As it turns out, there are not, the big 4 QB's in the draft, only 2 .

AR and Levis are probably not gonna be ready to start for a good while. So to get one of the 2 top tier guys, someone will have to go up. Going to 3 would still have cost us a ton and Young and Stroud would both be gone, so we would be taking at 3, what we might have been able to get at 9. I am more convinced that our guy saw only 2 viable options, thus the trade.

As you read "stuff" from all over, keep in mind how wrong or right the talking heads can be on pre draft opinions.

    From NFL.com on Luke

    Weaknesses
    • The major knock on Kuechly is that he had a lot of "inflated" tackle production throughout his career, the idea being that he is indeed a superb tackler but most of those tackles came 5 to 8 yards downfield in pursuit
    • He didn't get up into the line of scrimmage to make powerful, impactful plays much, and won't be relied upon as a pass rusher at the next level and is strictly a tackling, sideline-to-sideline backer

Think he can play nickel too, so I adjust my thinking on draft, yet again.

    1. QB
    2. DE
    3, 4A, 4B, 5-- TE, CB, DT, OT/G, in no uncertain order
