I don't see the point of drafting a mid round QB when you already have a redshirted one on the roster. You also have Jacob Eason who's still a developmental QB. How many developmental QBs can fit on a roster?

McKee and Hooker are ranked very close, but I just gave the nod to McKee because of height and arm and accuracy. Hooker might well be the other guy.

If only I could be GM and get the league to offer trades like this on the NFL Draft Database simulator

Eason will definitely not fit Reichs plan, and who knows about Corrals foot and smallish stature. The other parts of Corrals game line up pretty well if healthy and a great Oline

What FA's could we realistically pursue ? 3-4 LB, TE, CB (if we don't draft a solid one)

the FA TE's are going to be expensive, but there are 11 guys with grades between 1 and 3 according to D Jeremiah. A great year to get a TE in the draft and save money. Otherwise the Gesicki from Miami might be in play

You're stuck in 2003, which I get it it was a magical time but we're in the GET A CHEAP QB AT ALL COSTS EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO DUMP ALL YOUR GOOD PLAYERS AND TANK era now. Everyone wants to be jacksonville, apparently or they want to be arizona up until that green bay game where AJ green ran the wrong route. Building a good team and getting a QB is what dumb teams like Kansas city, Buffalo, Tampa Bay and LA did.

I like the thought that went behind the mock, but have some thoughts of my own.

First, I don't think Tepper is in the class of a Jerry Jones, but I'm sure Fitterer knows that we NEED to take a QB early this year or the fans may just riot. There's got to be some serious pressure to get one of the top four, and if we can do that without giving up the farm I think we'll jump at it.

I can see us bringing Darnold back, but he will be in more of the 8-10 million dollar range, like B&B pointed out. I think that Reich would be happier with Brissett or Minshew, but with the QB carousel we're on Darnold may be the most palatable, just for the continuity thing. The burning question there is how well he will fit with the offense Reich wants to run. Also, how has his decision making improved? Last year he looked pretty good at times, but look at what he was asked to do. The problem with Sam has always been the decision making.

I don't think Howell is a smoke screen, FWIW.

A 3-4 DE is a bigger need than a NT IMO. Brown and McCall can both play 0-tech, but we don't really have any great 3-4 DEs.

I am not a McKee fan. He's a 1990s style quarterback, similar to Carson Strong a couple of years ago. Love the Sanders pick.

I decided to try my hand at it myself. You've inspired me! In that, I see us lucking into Stroud dropping out of the top five. We package our first and SF's second to Detroit and move up ahead of the Raiders to select him. That may take another later round pick, but it would be worth it just to help fill seats in the stands.

In the second, we take a shot on Andre Carter. That kid has skills, but needs some time in an NFL strength and conditioning program. He's got the size to hold up on the edge or slide in to the 5-tech, and will likely get bigger. There's a lot of upside with him. Finally, in the third I'm taking a shot on Karl Brooks. I would have liked to get one of the top Linebackers, but the board just didn't fall that way. Carter and Brooks will help us transition effectively to the 3-4, and you can never go wrong building in the trenches.

I don't see us cutting Shaq, but we're going to need to sign someone who's better against the run on the interior. Even with the transition to the 3-4, we're still going to be lined up in the nickel most of the time, and Shaq can handle MLB duties there.

I think we bring Ioaniddis back, and may take a shot at Zach Cunningham or Tremain Edwards in free agency to line up in our base sets. And I think Fitterer will probably be active in the later rounds to trade up for a hidden gem, just like last year. We're probably going to roll with a lot of the guys we have now, and not trade back much for extra bodies.

I would love to see Stroud playing for the Panthers, but I would have a solid shat in my drawers if he were to fall to five. I would also have a shart if Fitterer were to move up in this draft.
Is this draft the closest the Panthers will get to being able to draft one of the higher rated QBs in a draft for a few years? IDK
Gambling with draft capital reminds me of selling oil from the reserve. It could get painful to replenish.
Does this staff even need a Burrow rated QB or can it make a Purdy rated choice work? Again IDK, just throwing it out there.
So I guess I'll be safe and fast a day or two before the draft so I won't have to big a bowel movement issue in case wild draft stuff does go down.
On a side note, I've grown to really dislike that "next pick is in" chime that the broadcast uses.
