I think Tepper knows who he wants and has known for at least a month. Wilks’ success is just getting in his way.

I will say that I'm horrified to see Jim Caldwell on the list on candidates. Owners tend to overcorrect after something fails, and a lifelong, NFL Yes Man might be the opposite extreme Tepper swings to after Rhule.

I could totally see that happening.

Caldwell is a Rooney rule candidate, nothing more.

And I would be good with a couple NFC Championship losses in the next few years. At least that means we would be winning

I think the Caldwell thing is serious. He was a finalist for the Bears job last year and he's had multiple other interviews since his last gig. Owners who are underwater probably see him as a stabilizing force or some silly bullshit.

He’s too old at this point.

Why would he get an interview just to satisfy the Rooney rule when we knew Wilks was already getting interviewed? Like B&B I hope there is nothing more to this. Someone would have to have a fantastic interview to get the job from Wilks

Don't you have to have 2 minority candidates interviewed and the present coach does not count?

Internal candidates don't count towards the Rooney rule.

I assume the rule doesn't count if you hire Wilkes, so Caldwell getting the interview because they're not serious about Wilkes?
