I think Stafford was sacked around 30 times so far this season before going into protocol. Mayfield might be running for his life behind that OL.

 

I doubt it works out, but McVay couldn't keep putting XFL QBs on the field without losing the locker room.

 

Rams were the only team to put in a claim for Mayfield

 

I don't know what happened to Mayfield. He was up and down in Cleveland, but mostly up for a young QB on a bad team. He learned and operated two completely different offenses in three years, so it can't be laziness. His ex-teammates generally like him. He was a team first guy here. He's got a strong arm and moves around well enough. Maybe he's just had the QB yips. I wish him well. There's a perception about him, but he seems like a good dude at his core.

 

I think the coaching and play calling obviously contributed to his failure here. Let him manage the game and strike deep while your running backs are churning out yards and he'll look good. Put the game on him and land him in third and long constantly and you find out he's not good enough to play hero-ball.

 

I heard all his teammates hated him. No one defends him. Myles Garrett has pretty much come out and said he does not like him. Mayfield has always been known as an arrogant asshole. He learned how to pretend to be humble in Charlotte because he sucked.

Hopefully Russell Wilson will go through the same process now.

 

Would have been awesome if the Rams had signed Odell Beckham right before getting Mayfield
