To trade down, someone will have to want to trade up. Most of the time that's done for a QB, but I don't know that there's a QB worth the price this year.

Maybe with a little protection Darnold's light bulb will come on and he will start being worth a damn. It took Jake six years to become a competent NFL QB.

 

Without knowing how the other picks go you never know. The part of the offseason where QB inflation begins just got done at the combine. After pro days the whispers will be a roar.

Jake wasn't starting those years. All the stories of shit to good QBs usually involve an extended benching. And to reiterate since we've all forgotten- sam matching teddy's numbers from the year before would have been a MASSIVE step in the right direction that's how bad the guy has been.

 

Dammit, I can hope, can't I?

 

You'll have so much hope when we trade 4 first rounders for Tannehill next offseason. It's gonna be fucking amazing.

 

Tannehill didn't go to Temple or Baylor, so that will never happen.

I had read that Philly really wanted an edge guy and the top 2 were always figured to go in top 3 picks. But the Thibedeaux kid, think that is his name, might actually be there at 6 now. If so, maybe we get lucky. But I sort of doubt it as the GA Walker kid had an extremely impressive combine and has jumped Thibedeaux. Philly might need to only go up about 4 spots to get him now.

I wish the Panthers had an identity on Defense. I just don't like the 43, 34, 522, blah, blah, blah defenses we play. They seem cute and all, but where Burns looks great on one play, his is pushed around like a rag doll on others. If they are gonna play a 34, then keep burns and thicken up the interior line, if not, then trade Burns and get a true 43 DE.

 

Maybe we sign Jordan Davis GA to play interior DL making it quite formidable all of a sudden. Think we could run a 34 at that point
