I've read Jacksonville is high on former Texan coach Bill Obrien #snickers

Winning record with the Texans, including multiple division titles. He's fine as long as you keep him away from major front office decisions.

If, as per The Athletic article, Tepper is truly “embarrassed” by his hiring and salary of Rhule, I cannot see how he isn’t gone. As I stated in a previous post, Rhule has assembled a small, fast college team. That doesn’t translate in the NFL. And clearly he panders to past players, regardless of pro talent.

Let’s see if the owner learns from past mistakes.

Under normal circumstances, you're right, and Rhule probably would have been fired weeks ago, but the contract gives him solid job security. Presumably, this is a big part of Tepper's embarrassment. He just sort of has to sit there and watch this farce play out for another year or two.

Some of hhe FO stuff was easterby pushing from whatever side job he had there. He is weirdly stubborn about QBs like not doing camp comps then benching his guy in game 1 though.

Tepper might want to fire him, but is probably trying to give the impression that he is a calm, cerebral type guy.

Doubt he gets great guys if he seems like a quick draw kind of owner.

I noticed they're giving press conferences to the guard drafted in the sixth round who's barely played. This is how badly the Panthers are stretching to promote optimism.

This offseason will be all about '21 draft class coming back "healthy and recharged". And CJ Henderson basically being the 3rd round pick.

Darnold is salvageable, it was Joe Brady's fault, etc.

The preamble to another 5 win season.
