They should and maybe that's the next step when 'back to basics' fails. He was fine last year other than some red zone fuckups but Darnold's had his issues there too.

Will they? Fox and Rivera had more invested* so I can see why they stuck by their guys as long as they could. Rhule hasn't really built anything yet if they fire him he'll drop back to college without hurting his reputation. Might even fail up to a better job than Baylor. I'm letting that Saban interview cloud my judgement here but there's a nagging feeling... like gears have been grinding behind the scenes since last season.

*legacy/sense of ownership- someone help me out here- basically a sort of I'm gonna make them fire my ass.

Oh and if they worry about pj in the rz use the battering Sam. How did we miss that nickname when things were going well?

If they start PJ they're admitting that they made a mistake with Darnold, and that's after picking up his fifth year option. The only way that happens is if Sam gets "hurt" and has to go on IR.

If it's Darnold, they have to run him more outside of the redzone. He's good at that, and he's not good any many other things. I'd rather have a 3 yard zone read on 2nd down than a 6 yard sack.

David Carr and the tale of mysteriously tightening back. Though I recall Fox outright saying he didn't play him in one game to shield him from the fans.

sure, I like a two QB system with the panthers total shit o-line. .. could only help I guess. At least we could keep one guy alive a little longer. Poor Teddy got nailed repeatedly by the raiders (17 or 18 hits!) looked like a crippled old man in their presser
. .. anyway, I feel like it really doesn’t matter this season who plays behind center. .. unless we had a Jackson or Murray whoever We have at QB is going to be hurried into picks and/or knocked on his ass without a line that can block or a running game.
