and Luck is probably that exception. .. even The Collin sighted Andrew Luck as the best QB prospect to come out in 20 years (i think that’s right ??) I would argue that the colts at that time were more solid, better coached and better managed than the panthers are currently.
Lawrence and Burrow are/were hyped like hell and highly touted. Watson was not hyped as much as he should have been. Fields has grit and I like him but definitely not to trade up for. Lance is a huge dice roll and I do not like BYU boy.
Look ANY rook QB is a risk to go “all in” for. Betting on a proven vet is a smarter bet.

Someone floated they could catch a first for him, that someone is probably the jets gm. He's on the books for about 8 million/year. I'd give up a third and point to Rosen as to why.

those colts teams were bad they needed a manning or luck to keep them afloat. Better coached ehh... Arians can run an offense but chuck Pagano ain't exactly setting the world on fire there or after his firing lets not kill rhule on the back of one season.
Better managed? They traded a first for Trent Richardson.

Yes rookie qbs are a risk whats your point?- you also shit on the idea of getting the highly proven vet currently trying to leave his team.

Which vet qb should the panthers go with?

ouch, I’m man enough to acknowledge a buttkickin . .. looked back after I posted and you are correct sir. However that does prove just how good and “NFL ready” Luck was. Really smart fucker, and poised. What rook is close to Lucks level aside from Lawrence? A bunch of overhyped “project QBs” and carolina already has what appears to be a highly paid project in Teddy.
I mainly shit on the watson idea for the obvious reason that he would cost way too much. I would love to own a Lamborghini but I don’t even consider thinking about acquiring one because I could never afford it. ..same thing with watson. Also why the fuck would he want to come to carolina even if we could afford him? Any connection with our staff? Any Brady-like assumption of an immediate SB run? Any draw to a bigmarket funtime environment?? What would be HIS motivation to want to come to carolina ???
You can all forget that crazy shit.
As for what vet? Darnold if affordable. .. If not Brissett on a one yr deal to hopefully push TB to play UP

His former QB coach is a link Watson has on our staff and it's been mentioned that he would be closer to home. I don't think we'll get him but it's also not as impossible as people are making out.

The ESPN link I put up makes some good points about how it could be done and why.

Rosen went for a 2nd and a 5th, and he still had several years left on his contract. I imagine a 3rd might catch their interest.

sorry but I don’t buy espn on this. .. that watson to Denver twitter seems more likely to me. He’d make the donkos a playoff team and the texans might buy into LockLove

Mock drafts are garbage. Nfl.com has the Panthers trading the #8, 2nd, and 4th this year as well as next years first and third for the byu qb who goes 12th over all in another mock
