and how many seasons was it before those QBs could propel their team into a playoff run?
and how well did they draft in areas of need, and acquire FAs to upgrade weak spots?
Let’s not pretend that just any ol’ team in the NFL goes from bottom quarter of the league to playoff contender just by drafting a lawrence, burrow, luck, or newton. .. That also won’t just happen automatically by a desperation trade for watson.
One QB does not instantly and magically make a untalented, thin, below average team a contender. Maybe there has been an exception but I would bet that even “your exception” upgraded numerous weaknesses (in addition to the QB position) before the team graduated from sucks to bucks

There is going to have to be that QB step eventually. If they can make it happen this draft then so be it.
If you'll notice from my previous posts that I recommended Parsons as the #8 pick if available.
I personally would only try for a QB if they want spin the wheel and move up in the draft to get an upper tier QB or set their sights on one of the second or even third tier QBs.
    Who knows what they'll do.
One thing I would never do is go infantile and threatened to quit following a team because of a draft pick.
Brissett seems nothing more than a lateral talent move from Bridgewater.
Again, I would still go with a Parsons if I was picking.

See I thought we would go QB in later rounds and probably trade back in round 1 to get more picks, and take a lineman with the later first rounder. The more I hear though the more it sounds like we're wanting another QB and likely one in the draft. A lot of the analyst types seem to think we might even trade up for Fields, while there's a lot saying Lance at 8. Either way it does suggest we're looking at QB as a priority position and that faith in Teddy is waning.

I could see a Lance sat behind Teddy for a year, but I could equally see a trade back for more picks and a project QB taken later like Fitterer did in Seattle.

Rake, if your QB is there you take him. Teddy allows you to sit him for a year and let him adjust to the NFL. In the meantime, you work on the lines.

Our team went 3-8 in one score games. If better QB play could have made that 8-3 we're a 10 win team, even with the porous (and rookie filled) defense.

Take the QB if he's there. Get some linemen on day two, there will be plenty. Find a DB and a better MLB in Free Agency, they will be available this year, particularly since the cap is falling.

    11 wins in 2021.

Basically I think we're trying to motivate Bridgewater. The most likely outcome is that he'll be our opening day starter. The real question is who starts the season #2. This will be an attractive opening for a veteran who's eyeing the Ryan Tannehill rehabilitation path.

I would be just as happy with Sam Darnold as I would with a rookie quarterback. Maybe more, I think he has some really good football in him that just needs to be coached out.

I think Darnold is suffering with PTSD from playing with the Jets.

I think a year behind someone like Teddy would be a decent reset for him.

I like the idea of Darnold too but what would he cost? Who’s got a number on that?
