I could see it in spite of more pressing needs. Anderson is a ticking time bomb and can anyone remember Moore really taking over a game*?

My preferred whipping boy Samuel has played himself into someone overpaying for him so a new wr would have a path to targets.

*bull Moose and b&b: before you post I'll just move the goal posts and say he doesn't do it often enough.

Only a Patriot's beat writer would look at our roster and think WR was a need.

I would take Sewell in a heartbeat over Slater, but I would be happy with either.

I think Lance is who we pick, which might need a move up and that's against the Fitterer way though he's said he's open to doing that.

If carolina takes a QB in the first round I’m going to switch to an AFC team. .. the bills or even the browns would be less frustrating to pull for

    You don't think it's a need?

Out of interest how would you go about getting the franchise QB that's badly needed? Or are you happy rolling with Teddy? Genuinely interested.

I do think it’s a need. .. Just not as urgent a need as a porous D and a struggling O-line. Both of those entities have just barely kept their heads above water over the last three seasons. With all the cash tied up in Teddy they simply can’t afford to move on yet. I think that they will try and genuinely improve the O-line so TB (and any other carolina QB) might stand a better chance. I hope that will be the case anyway. I also hope that they will find some “cheap” QB competition because Teddy had none at all in 2020 and we saw how that went. Brissett seems like a good candidate to me, and he would be an immediate upgrade to any QB on the roster and be able to push Teddy.
Aside from Lawrence (even HE will take at least a season) no rook quarterback is going to be an automatic “franchise QB”. Logic and Odds do not favor putting all your eggs in one basket with a rookie QB. .. not when you are genuinely needing to upgrade so many roster spots. There is a TON of talent that could “immediately” upgrade the panthers roster at CB, LB, DL, and O-line with the first 3, possibly 4 picks. Since carolina can’t throw picks and cap cash away for a “franchise” vet QB right now then bring in Brissett for 2021 and hope to be set up well enough to upgrade Teddy NEXT off season when they have a stronger more talented team overall.
