1,000 yards on a bad team as a rookie. I don't know. I know he high volume and dropped a bunch of passes, but he also made enough plays to be excited about him. Thompson wasn't a full time player. Humphrey didn't play at all. Didn't you want Humphrey? Ealy dominated Morgan Moses, who I guess was the guy we were banging the table for. I also think Turner has been a little better than "good", but OK.

I wasn't big on anyone last year:
But no, I did not mention Humphries until the day of the draft. I did say that if they were going to take a linebacker then it should have been Eric Kendricks, who was a good player for Minnesota. I didn't like Shaq.

Who would you rather have taken?

If you say Bridgewater I may come find your ass.

So why couldn`t Hurney`s choices do better in the seasons leading up to last years SB visit?
I know, it wasn`t their fault, injuries, bad free agency choices, etc...
There are always going to be reasons/excuses. The thing is the Panthers got to the SB with choices from both Hurney and Gettleman, good or bad.

You know where you were being intellectually dishonest. You listed a few examples there.

I did want Bridgewater, obviously. In fairness, I also recommended Xavier Su'a-Filo, who has been terrible for Houston.

Gettleman did some good things, certainly. He got the cap back in shape and the Short, Lotulelei, Turner, and Coleman additions have been huge. But the reality is that most of the moves Gettleman has made have been bad ones. Running off Jordan Gross, Steve Smith, and DeAngelo Williams all proved to be bad decisions. Running off Josh Norman will probably end up being even worse than those. Gettleman's additions in free agency aside from Coleman have largely been a waste, while he has steadfastly refused to spend money on offensive tackle or cornerback. His answer at defensive end was a 33 year old wanna-be cowboy who hadn't been good since 2013. When I ask people to prove that Gettleman has been good, they don't point to his actual moves, they point to the team's record.

Except not at all. Because you want to pretend those players are better than they are isn't my problem. I'm basing my judgments on reality, not hopes and dreams. On the field, at least so far, those picks have not panned out.

Someone explain how Gettleman ran off Gross? I hadnt heard this until recently. I have no issue with losing deangelo due to getting cap back in shape but did hate the smith debacle

Gross was in his way out anyway and cost too much, false started every other play

Letting smith go was hard but right. Newton took huge steps after he left

Williams was way to much for his production and age. He did ok for the steelers but only because bell got hurt.

Panthers had a top defense last year despite all your shit.
