This was the perfect draft for a 7-9 franchise. Executed to perfection.

USA Today says that Panthers are at the bottom of the draft pick list thing. Unfortunately!

SI is the only one I've seen that did like the draft, which makes sense because SI's draft coverage is a hardly believable level of stupidity. That site has gone to absolute shit since Paul Zimmerman's stroke.

The teams in best position to have a great draft are the ones picking ahead of the rest. Which are the worst teams.

Kind of different to see Cleveland in there, getting higher and more picks doesn't usually matter with them..

Cleveland was widely praised last season too. I was correct that they made a huge mistake in taking Justin Gilbert at #8, and that Terrance West wasn't the steal some media members bizarrely claimed he was, although Bitonio had a much better rookie season than I expected. They did better this time but I still wouldn't call them one of the best drafts. Shelton is a great run-stopper but that's all he can do, which makes him a good pick but not someone who can become one of the best all-around defenders in the league. Taking Erving is just weird unless they're definitely letting Mack leave, in which case why not trade him for something now? I do like Duke Johnson and expect him to become the starter there, yet he will probably always have injury issues.

Baltimore had a phenomenal draft, which Baltimore usually does. The Vikings also stood out to me. Not only did they get good value with their picks but they addressed needs as well.

The vets on the Patriots are laughing their ass off at this one. The best...

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Defensive tackle Malcom Brown, the New England Patriots' first-round pick, certainly isn't lacking for confidence. The versatile, athletic big man will have a chance to fill the vacancy left by departed Pro Bowler Vince Wilfork.

Asked on his introductory conference call with the New England media if he had a message for Patriots fans, Brown set his goals pretty high for his career in Foxborough.

"You guys drafted me, so you're about to get the best player you've ever drafted," Brown said. "So just be ready for when I touch the field."
