Anything out of the east`s basement will be a shock for the Bravos this season.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Atlanta Braves outfielder Melvin Upton is expected to miss the rest of spring training because of inflammation in his left foot.

The team announced Upton's condition Friday after he underwent an X-ray and MRI exam.

Upton's foot will be placed in a short leg cast for two weeks, then in a walking boot from four to six weeks. The team said he will likely be able to resume baseball activities in early April, about the time the Braves are opening the regular season.

Upton was diagnosed with sesamoiditis, which is inflammation in the bone behind the ball of the foot.

The condition is a further setback for Upton, who is coming off two miserable seasons after signing a five-year, $75 million contract with the Braves.

I didn't get the Kimrel trade. Kimbrel has led the league in saves the last 4 years for 2 guys in Maybin and Gomez who are soon for AAA and a prospect as well as a draft pick that in baseball isn't a sure thing. I read where they are shucking salary in preparation for the move into their new stadium in 2017. Shouldn't they have some decent talent to showcase in 2017.

But then again, I'm a Phillie fan and Reuben Amaro has fist fucked this organization

I think the Bravos` pitching should be ok barring injuries, but the offense, I`m curious about.
I just hope they can cut back on the strikeouts. If they can do that then I will look at the season as better than last.
