Panthers V Eagles Game day thread

Cam does hang on the ball too long, especially when he has guys after him in the backfield. Sometimes he can get out of it and make a play...when he's healthy. For everyone of those plays like the pass he made to Olsen, he is taking a lot of unnecessary sacks or fumbles. For the life of me, I don't understand why they put the game on Cam's shoulders.

 

BTW, I think Whittaker is playing better than Deangelo. I'd say we wanted a veteran in there for pass protection, but I had just watched Deangelo pass protect.

 

I just still go back to people screaming about the WR situation before the season ignoring the festering turd the offensive line was. You'd like to think if Cam could stay upright long enough he could make a play or learn to throw it away. The primary problem on offence is the line play, Not Cam or the receivers. Cam may get a career ending injury and they won't have to pay him

Hey, thanks for stopping by and posting the most patronizingly stupid shit you could think of to reinforce the narrative of Philly fans being a bunch of ignorant cockwits who couldn't find a good point if it was slathered in cheese and shoved elbow-deep into Rocky's asshole. I genuinely appreciate you providing a pick-me-up by reminding me that as frustrating as it is to cheer for a horrible team and embarrassing organization, at least I don't have any association with Philadelphia.

To list some of the staggeringly idiotic things you posted:

* Hurney was bitched about endlessly here. Yes, it took some a couple of years longer to catch on than I did, but everyone here realizes how bad Marty was which is why you've seen countless complaints posted about him.

* As B&B pointed out, Gettleman cut Steve Smith when it actually cost the team cap space to do so. He also ran off Jordan Gross, then replaced him with Byron Bell, and replaced Bell at right tackle with a guy who was a defensive lineman until 2013. He then decided that taking two of the bottom five safeties from 2013 and starting them side by side was a good idea.

* Cam hasn't really regressed, as his flaws are the same ones he's always had. Chudzinski could hide them, whereas Shula is a worthless moron who would never have worked in the NFL if not for his last name.

* Contrary to popular belief, there is not a young core to build on, which is the really depressing aspect of this fiasco. Luke Kuechly might be the most overrated player in the NFL, and while he is an above average linebacker, he's simply not the dominant force to build around that he's portrayed as in the media. I love Lotulelei, but I have to admit that he hasn't played well this season so who knows what he'll be in the future, and Benjamin has actually been a below replacement level wide receiver despite his stats looking decent thanks to a ridiculous number of targets. And what's really hurt the lack of quality youth on this team is missing so badly on almost all of the non-first round picks. The Panthers have almost nothing to show for the rest of their drafts over the last four years.

People who don't follow this team just don't get it.

No where have we ever been "close". We had that three year mini-dynasty under Fox when we went to two title games and a Super Bowl. That was our moment in the sun. Otherwise we're a shitty franchise that occasionally jumps up and has a good year. It's just the way it is. 2017 will be our next shot at the playoffs.




Like a lot of shitty teams, we think that what works one year will work the next. We thought that we could keep the catastrophe that is Mike Shula employed while the defense (and special teams) plays as great as it did in 2013. It doesn't work that way. You have to constantly change to be good year in and year out. Gettleman thought he could all Dollar Tree on key positions just because it worked the previous year. The league FIGURES YOU OUT. You got to be honest about your weaknesses and address them.
