    If I understand this, we are now about $12 million under the cap for this season (when we don't need it) andwe've deferred $5 million into the future (when we will). Unless Cam is about to sign a new contract momentarily, this makes no sense.

    Even then you wouldn't need $12 million for a new Cam contract. A trade maybe? I have no idea.

    A trade seems like the only thing that would really require clearing that much space now. Any new contract could be structured to minimize the immediate cap impact.

    Considering Luke will be coming up, they could possibly want to front load a deal for Cam to make that easier to deal with. I would choose this option were I forced to speculate.

    They might think Hardy could be gone for a while but I can't see a trade being the answer there, or them thinking it is. Any franchise LTs on the block? I mean, who would we possibly trade for?

    Could WE be trading someone and taking a huge cap hit? DA? Not much cap hit. A RB?

    Except that back-loading CJ to front-load someone else accomplishes nothing.
