Of all people, Tony Dungy catching flack for saying what most GMs were thinking on draft day. That is they don't want the distraction of Michael Sam on his team.I PROMISE you Sam makes the team and another better player gets cut to further the NFLs image make over after last years Riley Cooper/Richie Incognito fiasco

I actually sort of understand the reaction, since Dungy worded it rather poorly. "Things will happen" is a little cryptic. You should just say that teams don't want to deal with the distraction and leave it at that. I don't think "things will happen".

No chance in hell, barring injury. Fisher needs to win this year so the Rams aren't going to keep an inferior player just to be the NFL's PR mascot. If the NFL just wants to look good, it's more likely that Sam gets hired by the league in some vague capacity in a year or two after he washes out as a player.

See there's the thing. Unless you watch every Ram preseason game it's opinion if he stays who he beats out. Here is their current defensive starters at both DE, his listed position, and LB where he might better fit? They don't show any rookies on their projected depth chart yet

LDE Chris Long William Hayes Sammy Brown
    RDE Robert Quinn Eugene Sims
ROLB Jo-Lonn Dunbar Will Witherspoon Daren Bates
    MLB James Laurinaitis
    LOLB Alec Ogletree Ray-Ray Armstrong

    Ones in bold are guarentees

Heard he is really looking forward to dressing out during breast cancer pink shoe week.

edit Really hope he makes the team.

edit: and really looking forward to the historically unprecedented hours of special coverage the weeks prior to that.

Looking at my list I could seeing Witherspoons job being in danger solely on his cost.

No he can't play linebacker, not in that scheme.

William Hayes and Eugene Sims are also roster locks. Then they also signed Alex Carrington who can play end or tackle. So unless they waste a roster spot on an inactive DE or someone gets hurt he's not going to make the team.
